Recent Videos

So I have been meaning to post some videos of my sweet little man for a while now, so here are a few. The first one was filmed today, but the other two were taken a few weeks back.

This is a litle video I got of him this morning when I went to get him out of bed. I just love the faces he makes when he stretches as he wakes up. I will have to try to get a better shot of those though. They are super funny!

Here he is trying to figure out the whole thumb-sucking thing, but getting a little frustrated in the process. This was actually taken a while back, and for a while we thought he was going to turn into a thumb-sucker, but he never did. Usually when he loses his paci and can't find it, I catch him sucking on his first two fingers instead of his thumb.

Maddox has become quite the chatterbox lately. He just jabbers up a storm all the time and he makes the most hilarious noises. I love to make noises at him and he tries to make them back at me. It is so funny!

Happy Fathers Day!

We had a great weekend! On Saturday night we went to see my cousin Spencer play baseball because his travel ball team was in town. They won and he played great! He even hit a homerun too! It was great to get to see he, Chris and Leigh-Ann. Hopefully we'll see them at the beach in a few weeks.

We also had a great day Sunday! It was Blake's first Father's Day and I think it was a good one. My usual alarm clock (Maddox) slept in until 8:00 so that was a great present in itself. After Maddox got up he got back in bed with his daddy and played for a while until they both fell back asleep. This is what I saw when I got out of the shower. Pretty cute, huh?
After church, we went to Blake's parents to celebrate Fathers Day and Andrew's birthday. We filled the baby pool with water to let the little guys splash around. Jackson had so much fun and Maddox even got in for a little bit. I think he enjoyed it since Poppy let him sit in his lap and splash in the water. He even got to sport his new swimwear. We can't wait to take him to the beach in a few weeks!

We hope everyone had a great Fathers Day! Maddox loves his daddy so much and with good reason...Blake is such a great dad already! No one can make Maddox (or me) laugh like he can. We both love you very much and thank you for just being you!

4 Month Check-up

Wow! It is so hard to believe that Maddox is already 4 months old. He is growing so fast! Even though it is hard to remember what life was like without him, it is just as hard to believe that he is already 4 months old. He is just growing and changing by the minute. We went for his check-up today and Dr. Harmon seemed to think that he was doing just great. He has some really good head control now and pretty much can hold his head up all the time. Dr. Harmon lifted him high up in the air on his stomach to see how he holds his head and he just loved that. He held his head up so high and just looked all around. I think he liked the view from up high. He also had to get four shots today in his little legs. That was the worst part, but he was brave and only cried for a few seconds. Once I was able to scoop him up and cuddle him, he was fine.

Today he weighed in at 14 lbs 3 oz, which puts him right around the 45th percentile for boys his age. He had also grown 2 inches since last time and is now 25.5 inches long. Since he is gaining weight and is doing well, Dr. Harmon gave me the option to wait to start him on cereal. He said I can start him on it now or wait up until he is 6 months old. I will probably start him on it before 6 months, but we'll probably wait a little longer since he is sleeping well at night and since he seems to be getting everything he needs with just milk.

And speaking of sleeping well at night, Maddox is also sleeping in his big boy bed (also known as his crib) now. He sleeps upstairs in his own room and has done very well so far. I think it was harder for me to put him up there than it was for him. I missed having him by my bed that first night (and well I still do), but I think it's good for him to get used to sleeping in his own room. Blake usually brings him down to me in the morning though so we get a little snuggle time in before he eats breakfast. I may have given up having him sleeping by me, but I refuse to give up our snuggle time! He's my little snuggle-bug!

A New Friend

Maddox's newest playmate, Whit, arrived on Wednesday. We went to visit Niki, Jesse, and Whit in the hospital on Thursday and had his and Maddox's picture made together. It is hard to believe that they are only a few months apart in age. Seeing (and holding) Whit made me realize just how fast they do change. It is hard to believe Maddox was that tiny just a few short months ago. Whit is just precious and we can't wait until he and Maddox can play together. I'm sure all these little boys will get into loads of trouble together.

Summer!

I have been a huge slacker when it comes to blogging lately. I think it is pretty obvious that I have been back at work. I started back May 6th, and even though I knew it was only for a few weeks, it was so hard to leave my sweet little guy. We had wonderful family and friends that kept him for us though so at least I knew he was in good hands. Thank you to everyone who helped us out during those few weeks! That first day was probably the hardest and I have to say those three weeks seemed to just drag on, but summer is finally here and I am looking forward to spending every day with the most precious little man. If May was that hard, I can only imagine how hard it will be to leave him in the fall, but we won't think about that now!

Maddox is now three months old (hard to believe, I know) and he is growing and changing by the minute. Over the past week or so he has become increasingly attached to his little snuggly blankets. He has a giraffe and a tiger blankie and he just loves them! He just looks at it and squeezes it and rubs it on his cheek. It is very cute to watch. I think we are going to have to make sure we keep up with these because he would probably not be too happy to see them disappear.

Since I've last posted, I celebrated my first Mother's Day. We had a wonderful day! We went that morning and had Maddox's pictures taken with Jackson. We framed one to give to their Ra-Ra for Mother's Day! I think she liked it just a little! :) Later that evening we went to Maw Maw's for dinner. My mom came into town that night too so that she could help us with Maddox while I was at work the next week. Overall, it was a great Mother's Day! I truly love being a mommy and could not be more thankful for the greatest gift from God, my sweet little Maddox! I am also so very thankful for my mother and everything that she has done for me over the years. I know I probably don't say it enough, but thank you Mom!

Here are a couple of the pictures of Maddox and Jackson. They ended up turning out really cute!

Maddox made his first trip to New Orleans on Memorial Day weekend. We went for my friend, Ellen's wedding. We had a lot of fun and Ellen was a beautiful bride! Maddox was such a good boy in the car. He slept pretty much the entire ride. He woke up to eat and I sat with him in the back for a while and we played with his car seat bugs and read some books, but he never even fussed once. We are so thankful that he is a good car rider! My parents came over from Mobile and kept him during the wedding so it was nice that they got to spend some time with him. I think he enjoyed getting to see them again!

Since it has been so long since I updated last, I am going to post several recent pictures of him below. Even though I haven't written in a while, I have still been taking pictures of course!

Such a tired boy!

This blankie sure is soft! I wonder if it tastes good too...

Just playing and having a good time, as usual!
