Pictures

I have organized most of Maddox's pictures into photo albums on a shutterfly share site so family and friends can view and/or print them if they wish. The link to the site is maddoxturner.shutterfly.com if you want to check out the cutest baby ever!

Two Month Check-up

We went to the doctor this morning for Maddox's two month check-up. He is still growing like a weed. He weighed in at 12 lbs. 11 oz. and is 23 1/2 inches long. He is still right around the 70th percentile for weight and height so he's a big boy! He also had 4 shots today, which is the part of the visit I was dreading. I think it hurt me more than it hurt him. I held his sweet little hands and talked to him while he got them but that was tough. It is so hard to watch him knowing he is in pain and not be able to do anything about it. I did scoop him up as soon as he was done and snuggle with him and he actually calmed down pretty fast. He has been sleeping well today and he has even been pretty playful and smiley this afternoon so hopefully that means that he is over it and has forgotten all about it. The nurses kept telling him how gorgeous he was, which he just loves to hear. He probably would have flirted more had they not just stuck 4 needles in his legs! :)

Jackson's First Birthday!

What a big boy you have become! We had such a wonderful time celebrating Jackson's first birthday this past weekend. It is so hard to believe that he is already 1 year old. Time flies! If possible he has grown into an even more adorable and fun little guy than when he was first born! We can't wait until he and Maddox can play together. No telling what kind of trouble they will get into! We love our nephew and Maddox loves his big cousin very much! Happy Birthday Jackson!

We also had the pleasure of meeting Andrew's new and very adorable puppy, Nash, at Jackson's birthday party. Maddox just loved Nash...who wouldn't though?

Good Morning!

Well you know you had a good night's sleep when you wake up in this kind of mood:

Maddox slept through the whole night again, which is very exciting for mommy and daddy! He slept from around 11:00 until about 6:30 and when he woke up he was just as happy as could be. He only woke up a little fussy once during the night in need of his pacifier (and a diaper change) but went right back to sleep. For the past couple of weeks he has cut back to one feeding during the night and now for the fourth night in a row he has gone to no middle of the night feeding. I hope he keeps this up!

Funny story about this morning though. After he played in his bed for a while, I picked him up a little after 7:00 to feed him. As he's eating, he pauses for a second and proceeds to do what he does best...explosive poopy that is). I'm thinking to myself, wow that's a really warm sensation on my leg. So I lift him up only to find that he must have been wearing a malfunctioning diaper because there is poopy (and no, calling it a cute name does not make it any less gross) all over him and all in my lap. I told him it's a good thing he's so cute because that was one disgusting mess (and you know what I'm talking about if you've ever seen a breastfed baby's dirty diaper). Anyways I now have my clothes, his clothes, blankets, and burp cloths all soaking in the wash. It was a good and happy morning, but a messy one too!

Happy Easter!

Here are some pictures of Maddox on his first Easter. Sadly, we didn't end up getting a picture with the Easter Bunny this year, but we got some good pictures in his sweet little Easter outfit. I finished it just in time--I wasn't sure that I would get it finished with our busy moving weekend, but luckily I did because he looked so cute!

We're Moving

Well we put our house on the market right about the time Maddox was born (crazy, we know) and it actually sold much faster than we expected. We're officially moving this weekend so I thought I'd post a few pictures of Maddox's first nursery. We worked really hard on it and I hate that he's not really going to get much use out of it, but hopefully we can recreate it in our new house. We will certainly miss our old house where we first started our family together, but we look forward to many new memories in our new house.

Playing with my Bugs!

Watching American Idol and playing with my car seat bugs. I got really excited when I discovered that my hands could move those little buggies!

First Trip to Mobile

This past weekend we took Maddox to Mobile for the first time. He did a great job traveling in the car. He either slept or looked around out the window the entire time. Let's hope he continues to love riding in the car for a long time! He got to visit with a lot of relatives and friends while we were there. All in all he was a very good boy and it was a great trip. I think his grandparents are missing him already, but who wouldn't?

Doctor's Visit

Maddox had his first check-up this afternoon. At five weeks and two days old he officially weighs 11 lbs (68th percentile) and is 22 1/2 inches long (71st percentile). According to the doctors he is growing like a weed! Sadly, he had to get his heel stuck today and get his second hepatitis shot. It was so sad to watch him get stuck. I teared up when he was crying and his little lip was quivering...the bad thing is that I hear it only gets worse next month. He was a brave little man though and has recovered pretty quickly. Thankfully, all is well according to his doctor and we will go back the first week of May.
