A Few Attempts at Cereal

For the past two weeks, we have been attempting to get Maddox to eat a little cereal. He seems to like the taste okay, but he is not a fan of the spoon. It is actually pretty funny because he keeps his lips shut as tight as he can so I can't get the spoon in his mouth, but after I move the spoon he licks the cereal off his lips. I managed to wedge the spoon in there a few times, but we never really had too much success. We even tried applesauce yesterday and he seemed to like it too, but again, he just isn't a fan of the spoon. Well tonight I FINALLY had a very successful feeding. He ate almost an entire container of applesauce mixed with cereal, and that was after taking an 8 oz. bottle. What a good little eater! Hopefully his spoon issues are behind us now.

Here is a picture of the very first time we gave him a few bites of cereal. Gotta love the funny faces!

And here is a short video of Maddox enjoying some applesauce and cereal...

Laughter is the Sweetest Sound

Well for those of you wondering, I survived the day today. Maddox had a great time at Mrs. Sally's house (as I knew he would). I missed my sweet baby all day long, but we have had a great time playing tonight. One day down, only 179 more to go, but who's counting?

On another note, the best sound in the whole world has got to be this sweet little guy's giggle. I could listen to it all day long and it brings a huge smile to my face every time I hear it. We took this video at the beach about a month ago and I completely forgot about it. We were playing in the rocking chair and he just thought it was the best thing ever. It's just too cute not to share!

All Good Things Must Come to an End

We have had a great last week of summer. Maddox was baptized last weekend (I'll have more details and pictures to come soon) so we got to spend the weekend with lots of friends and family which was great. I have had to work in my classroom several days this week unfortunately, but Maddox has come along with me and he's been a great helper (and a good distraction from my work).

Tomorrow is my first official day back work and Maddox's first day to spend at Mrs. Sally's. I know he will be in good hands and I'm not at all worried about him. It is a good feeling to not have to worry if he's being looked after and cared for. What's not such a good feeling is knowing that I don't get to spend all my days with him anymore. This is the day I've been dreading pretty much since I held him for the first time and he completely stole my heart. I knew then it would be hard and I am so incredibly sad, but at the same time I am very lucky to have gotten to stay home with him for the last five and a half months.

Words can't even describe how much I love this little guy. And who wouldn't miss those big baby blues and that sweet smile? I love you, Maddox!!
